Flexible seating will let my students make their own decisions and make choices that work best for them. During collaborative work times they can pick a spot in the classroom that they can work best in. Over the past 2 years of using flexible seating my students have sat at tables with different heights, under tables, in comfy beach chairs, and on pillows.
When my students are comfortable they are more motivated to learn and stay engaged.
The products that I have selected will help my students by providing even more comfortable seating options. The lap desks allow students to sit and write in their own private space or with buddy, not requiring a clip board or lying on the floor to write. The rug will provide a space for the whole class or for small groups to meet comfortably. The park benches will foster collaboration with their being multiple spots for all learners to work together.
In past years I have seen how flexible seating can positively affect my students work and I know they will be as excited as I am with new seating options in my classroom.
