Visuals are extremely important when it comes to teaching, especially when it comes to teaching English Language Learners. There are 24 students in my class this year and 21 of them are ELL's.
Right now, I am borrowing an old rickety easel from another teacher. It is unsafe as I have a wiggly group of kids and they are constantly knocking it over. A new and sturdy easel will provide a great place to show the necessary anchor charts that I create on a daily basis. It is also a great place where I can store supplies needed for the easel; posters, charts, poster markers, dry erase markers, magnets, etc.
This easel will be able to stay at my school for MANY years to come.
