My high school mentors have done a terrific job at coming up with creative ways to engage with their elementary aged mentees.
However, after 2 years in the program, they could use some support. My co-teacher and I would like to supplement their efforts with 4 anchor activities spread throughout the year. One of those will be a bonding activity where pairs of students can create matching shirts.
I got this idea from one of my high school students last year. She was so inspiring. She bought t-shirts herself, decorated them with her husky buddy and wore them at our dance competition at the end of the year. Her husky buddy was so proud to be wearing the tshirt!
This is just one example of how I will use the requested materials for this endeavour.
