We are a small Title I school that provides services for students with a wide variety of skills and needs. Sometimes it's hard for our kids to sit still and focus; many people need to move a bit to help them focus on the task at hand, but out traditional chairs don't offer this as an option.
Flexible seating choices need to be included in the Media Center so that all students can succeed. I work with students from the Pre-K level all the way up through the fifth grade. If funded, these stools will be available to almost 400 children. They will give teachers and students the option of a flexible seating choice that is designed to move with the students. The hope is that if they can focus better through movement, they will be better able to attend to the lesson at hand.
