Our students are incredibly creative and innovative. They continually raise the bar with their ownership of learning and and bravery to try new things. Our elementary school is a special place; as the only district in the state without a racial majority, we celebrate the diversity of our classrooms by affirming our variety of cultures, languages, and learning styles. Though many of our students live in poverty, their resiliency speaks volumes about their capability and agency to change their community! My students deserve to experience all the world has to offer; they deserve to be heard. They benefit from being able to create, explore, and collaborate with others. We build community and character through rich experiences and support all learners, even when faced with low funding.
