Each of my students will receive a personal journal where they get to explore and learn what it means to have a growth mindset. Because we are coming off an extended break from school, many tasks are harder than the students remember them being and the teachers are seeing the kids experience some frustration with learning. I every student to believe that they can grow and improve through perseverance and a positive attitude. These journals will be used in class, daily, and will be kept in their binders to go to and from school. This will be beneficial so parents can help continue the dialogue, in their own homes, of having a growth mindset. I also want the journals to go home every day just in case we need to take another break from in person learning. If the journals are with the kids then we can just keep developing their motivation to learn.
