Many of my students have learning disabilities in mathematics. Having these calculators will help me to see that they are able to problem solve without fumbling over facts. They can comfortably continue to master their facts while keeping up with the curriculum.
Additionally, 4th graders at other schools already have access to these calculators. Due to this, these students are able to use them throughout the year and become comfortable with them. It allows them to dig deeper into concepts than students without this access. This will bring my students to the same playing field as students that are more economically advantaged.
