In class we use data binders to hold all of the papers we use to track student progress. Students keep track of their own data sheets. Data sheets will be used by the students to show their progress throughout the year. They track their progress on multiplication facts, different math standards, STAR scores, and vocabulary words. When students track their own progress they tend to want to do even better and to keep working towards their goals.
Data binders allow my students to take ownership of their learning, and help them become responsible for their own work, and progress towards their learning goals. This will also help them learn how to organize materials.
