Reading is the foundation of every subject I teach and my students encounter on a daily basis. Having books in hand that interest helps to build a rich reading life and create lifelong readers. My students will have books that will help to improve their reading skills. They will become better readers because they will have access to books. My students will also improve their vocabularies and their writing just by having books to read that interest them. Leaving my class students will carry their love of reading to the next grade because they have learned in a literacy-rich environment.
