My students love to learn about others, interact with each other, paint, create, and learn. They need a variety of of resources including organizational boxes that will help give them a structured classroom. They also need paint and markers to help them reach their full creative potential. The paint, markers, and playdough will be used to learn letter and number recognition in a fun and exciting way. Building numbers and letters with playdough, drawing the pictures to match words with the markers, and painting guided to help count. I also requested a letter pocket chart to help my students distinguish what letter we are discussing for the day, to further direct their attention to that specific letter and to develop a better understanding for the letter. The character books, community play people will help build connections to our unit on community helpers. My students will be able to have a visual and a personal connection with the dolls and the interactive coloring book. Having manipulatives like the magnetic write and wipe boards with the magnetic numbers will increase their interest in math and will make an imprint on their memory so that they can learn and retain the the math we are discussing. The magnetic boards will also help aid in learning how to spell and write numbers. I have magnetic letters that will match well with the magnetic boards. The blocks and bead sensory shapes will help students better understand math by aiding children who learn by touch, visual, and auditory.
Every single item in this project will benefit my students and will aid in their future success in Kindergarten!
