We teach "The Skin I'm In" as a 7th grade text at our school. The copies we have are falling apart at the spine, pages are missing or ripped, and we do not have enough copies for a full classroom set. The students are either rotating through the four "The Skin I'm In" books or reading them in shifts. During class, each student will have a book and have access to a book during instruction instead of rotating.
The Series of Unfortunate Events books are some of the only books my students have shown an interest in. It has been very difficult for me to find texts that students are engaged and interested in. Thus the inclusion of those books is to help build a classroom library where students have text that peak their interests.
