The flexible seating/chairs and group organizing caddies that I am requesting for this project will support my goal of creating a student-centered counseling classroom/office that is an inviting space where students want to be! This welcome space, will allow students to feel comfortable and safe to openly express themselves, apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, solve problem, and make responsible decisions. I currently have three tables for group work and collaboration. The purchasing of seating and organizing bins will allow me to create a space that will allow me to support students with their academic, personal/social, and college/career goals in middle school and beyond.
