Many students and adults rely on calculators every day for the most basic sums and products. It is not unusual for an adult to pull out a calculator at a restaurant or even at home.
Special Education students are at a particular disadvantage when it comes to mental math, so they rely heavily on calculators to help them with computation. Our school simply does not have enough calculators to distribute to our students who need them the most. These calculators will be used DAILY in both Geometry and Trigonometry, as well as on state exams and SATs. Providing the students with these calculators is absolutely critical to their success!
