Thanks to Fiesta Bowl Charities, my Gifted in PUSD classroom received a grant for LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 kits and tablets. We Do 2.0 is a hands-on STEM kit that combines LEGO bricks, to enhance science, engineering, technology, and coding instruction. It builds students' confidence to ask questions, define problems and design their own solutions, by putting the discovery in their hands and their minds.
Offering my students resources for project-based learning is super important to keep them engaged and growing. Starting out with the WeDo 2.0 sets is a great foundation to introduce Lego robotics to younger children.
In addition, the grant provided practical items to protect and care for the tablets used to program the LEGO robotics projects, such as screen protectors, cases, and 2 charger storage stations. To supplement our classroom's maker mindset, green screens were added to create videos first of the students' LEGO robotics projects, and then eventually to expand to use in other curricular areas.
Creativity is your mind having fun! Combined with science and technology, it is a sure winner for bringing quality education to my students! THANK YOU!
