Everyone reads at a different level and pace, especially students. Teaching students with special needs is difficult to adjust to when you have so many in your class that are all at different levels of reading. There are some 6th graders that are actually still reading at a 1st grade level. It becomes very difficult to find 1st grade resources in a school with mainly readers on a higher level.
Technology in the class would allow all students to read at their own pace, but have multiple resources at their fingertips! By having Chromebooks in my classroom, the special needs students will have a time every day to read a virtual book and be assessed so they can be proud and move to the next level!
