Every day, my students will start and end their school day on this rug. We will gather around the edge of the rug for Morning Meeting to greet each other and start our day. During lessons, read alouds, and writing shares, the rug will give each student their own space to sit, listen, talk to a partner, and learn. During independent work times, students will spread out with clipboards and books to read, write, and collaborate.
Having a comfortable and spacious rug will make my classroom more inviting and help students focus and do their best learning. They will have a defined space in which to sit, and I will have the option to move them temporarily as needed without removing them from the group. It will make a huge difference in our class and future classes for years to come!
