I am requesting 12 wobble chairs, 10 stools, and 2 standing desks to add some variety into my students' work spaces. My students are full of energy and hate being trapped at their tables all day. These seating options will allow all students a chance to choose where they will do their best learning. Adding these extra seating options will serve as a reward and reinforcer for students who are doing their best learning. Bodies were made to move; especially young, active bodies! It is unreasonable to expect elementary students to sit still at their desks for hours and stay focused on their lessons. Providing non-traditional seating choices in my classroom will allow students to wiggle, move and release pent up energy without disrupting others as everyone engages in learning.
