By making headphones available for my students, I am able to customize the lessons to not outfit their needs, but also their interests. Student-driven learning is a pillar of my classroom and technology plays a key role in allowing this to happen successfully. Headphones allow students to investigate careers that match their individual interests, participate in online career simulations and challenge their creativity through project-based learning. Examples include getting hands-on experience in computer programming on Scratch.com, exploring different careers that match their interests and abilities through informational videos and creating a commercial for the business they create.
