I teach approximately 100 7th grade students. My students come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds and about 55% of them qualify for free or reduced lunch. The majority of my students are boys who struggle to sit still in our traditional classroom desks. Five of my students recently moved here from Brazil and speak limited English. In my class, I believe that students learn the best when they become the historian. This requires them to research, discuss, question and experience. The best way for this to happen is a room environment which allows them to move around freely.
