Our geography and world history high school students will use these two large, all-in-one, touchscreen computers as a tool to help them learn and interact with engaging and educational resources, sites, and apps that will expand their knowledge, understanding, and worldview.
The students will work at stations in partnership with their social studies teacher and librarians to explore mapping software and programs on large, touchscreen computers that will allow them to interact in real time with people, places, and cultures that they are studying in the classroom. The students will also use the computers to produce products that will show evidence of new learning and processing of new skills. They will create presentations and videos, conduct interviews, and participate in collaborative discussions.
The touchscreen computers will be set up in high-profile stations at the front of the library to ensure high visibility and regular use. We expect this to be an exciting draw to the library space and a dynamic part of our social studies learning environment.
