We are learning the mystery, adventure and drama involved in READING! Everyone has a story. As good readers, we know that we can find ourselves in bits and pieces of any story. Our classroom is for English Language Learners whose primary home language is any language other than English. We would love to discover the joy of reading by reading the first two books in the Ariol series by author Emmanuel Guibert. We will be journaling every single day to build our English language skills in social and instructional language. My students will use the Ariol comic series to help students learn the necessary social skills that are needed to advocate for themselves with their other content teachers and peers. We are excited about reading two books this year and using many of the common (socially appropriate) "teen" speak phrases.
