My students come with no English and most of the times we struggle to find materials that will help them. This next year, I want my students to have multicultural books available at their reading level and also books in their first language. These will help them develop their literacy skills while learning a new language.
It is important to use resources that will help our students do their best.
I get students who are at very different levels even in their first language. It is really hard to get resources that will match every student's needs. Also, some students have interrupted formal education and their literacy skills in their primary language are not well developed. I want to make sure that I have enough materials to help my students at any level.
