Due to COVID-19 my students are not able to share or use the same materials in our classroom. With the manipulatives purchased, each child will have an individual set of manipulatives for math and play-based learning.
Students will use the manipulatives to count using one to one correspondence, to combine (add) and separate (subtract) concrete objects. Students will also use the manipulatives to create simple AB patterns. The materials purchased will meet the following standards:
PK.3b Estimate the number of objects in a set of 5
and verify by counting.
PK.1 Sort objects by similar attributes (size, shape,
and color).
PK.4b Count to 10 by demonstrating one to one
correspondence using objects
PK.5 Use concrete objects to combine and separate
groups up to 5
PK.2 Recognize and replicate simple AB patterns
Using manipulatives gives students hands on concrete objects to count, sort, and make patterns with.
