The students are in an underfunded area and we want to make sure whether they are learning at home or distance learning in the classroom, they have all the resources they need in front of them to be successful. These students are special education life skills students who may not get these skills outside our classroom. This is a new classroom and we are starting our kitchen from scratch. Learning to cook is an invaluable lesson and will help them be successful the rest of their life. Life Skills students in our class practice cooking on a weekly basis, working towards their IEP goals of reading a recipe, using measuring cups, and how to follow directions.
