I teach a self-contained class called Skills for Learners and Living (Life Skills). My students have one or more disabilities which hinder their learning process. The modified curriculum (Unique Learning System) I use provides a large digital library in all reading levels. It also provides digital lessons for reading/ELA, math, science, social studies, health, and social skills. Having full access to a printer in my classroom would allow me to print library books and lessons from the curriculum. This will give the kids a more hands on experience because they will be able to manipulate the materials. A classroom library would be created for students to enhance their reading skills and imagination. Students would receive a visual schedule to utilize throughout the day to assist them with transitioning from one lesson/activity. Having this device would change the way the kids learn.
