One day during our Mid-day meeting, I asked my students what would love to see in a "mystery box" on their front porch. I wondered what things would help them through this time at home during the pandemic.
They wished for simple things that would make their days at home better: notebooks, pencils, art supplies, books, games, and snacks. I was amazed at how basic items, things many may think unimportant, would bring them peace and comfort during this unpredictable and stressful time.
While are many things I can not do for them during this time away from school, I can welcome them everyday during our Mid-day meetings and show they are loved with these care packages!
