Most of my students come from single parent or two parent work around the clock homes. Taking their child to a library is not always feasible. Providing my students with current, high quality books in school supports early language development. Literacy skills are essential for student all around success. Helping me provide my students will new books to read is a personal and philosophical goal of mine. With the help of funds, I will be able to purchase this year’s Caldecott & Newbery Winners. Additionally I will look for STEM inspired texts and high interest, low level readers both fiction and nonfiction.

About my class
