My students love to move around. We have many students with special needs and often have the ability to work standing, sitting, kneeling or moving helps many students focus. I would love to give my students the ability to choose their work space for the day in order to foster their learning and responsibility in their choices.
When students can choose the way they would like to work, I believe they will take more ownership of the work they are completing. Flexible seating like wobble chairs and cushions can also help students use their excess energy on staying balanced, or safely wiggling on a wobble stool.
