This page will help put books in the hands of many young & often struggling readers. My school's mission is to incorporate reading/writing throughout all subjects so that we can improve the literacy of our students. We believe closing the literacy gap will open up so many more doors for our students. However, in order to grow, we want them to LOVE reading. With that said, my goal is to provide relevant books that students find parallels to their lives in, discover new worlds in, & even escape in. These students come from a variety of cultures, socioeconomic levels, family structures, hardships & life stories. Therefore, I made an effort to select texts focused on diversity & experiences my students could relate to & find a piece of themselves represented on the bookshelf. Your contribution big or small will impact not only my 80 students this year, but the hundreds of students I will continue to serve in the future.
