We are always hearing people in the community speak negatively about "this new math!" What most people don't understand, is this "new math" is allowing our children to have much strong, more flexible math thinking brains than we have. New research shows the importance of flexibility of thinking when it comes to learning our math facts. It's amazing seeing the kids have the "aha" moments when they start seeing how numbers are related to one another! Students are learning that they CAN do math and that math is FUN!
