My goal this year is to have better classroom organization. Switching classes and teaching 50+ students leads to a messy room. Working in this type of environment can be distracting for both me and my students. Having better organizational skills will help us maximize our educational time. This will be a great benefit for all.
Reducing the amount of time spent passing out materials and searching for items would be a dream-come-true! I found the idea of using the Sterilite 5-drawer storage towers when I was looking up ideas for new seating arrangements. This idea looked amazing! I teach two different classes and we share books, so this would be the perfect place to store them and have easy access. I would also like to store other materials, such as rulers, crayons, markers, lined writing paper and glue sticks, in there. This would reduce the time spent passing these materials out (and collecting them) each day. It's also the perfect place to keep student portfolios. I truly believe that this arrangement will change the dynamic of the room.
