I hope to serve these students an opportunity of a math technology center using these new Chromebook laptops. I need enough Chromebook laptops to utilize our new i-Ready math program in a center. Our classroom currently has only three desktops available for student use; however, they are outdated and have been worked on four times in the first three weeks of school. With new math programs and the new technology center, I want to provide my students a more hands-on approach to math by using these laptops in a group. They need to use these laptops with the new math program, doing group projects such as researching math ideas, and apply the learned information to daily math on their level in order to grasp the material for retention. They will have math research projects and group collaboration in order to make them successful. From the first days of school reading their learning style and math engagement surveys, I knew I needed to revamp my math centers for more movement, collaboration, and research in order to meet the needs of my students. This new technology will allow me to have a center specifically to use the chromebooks that will help them learn to team build and prepare them for the coming years of technology advancements while applying learned math skills! They will be able to be assigned group math projects and use the new i-Ready math program individually so that I may track each student's growth. With this individualized education plan made through the use of i-Ready, I then can make hands-on centers specific to individuals. This technology center with the use of these laptops will be utilized in many areas of Math, but specifically to ensure student success!
