The hanging mat system for our school rock wall will be beneficial in the safety of our students. The mat system will cover the existing rock wall (6 ft X 40 ft.) when not in use, preventing students from climbing on it. Our goal is to minimize any and all injuries by covering the rock wall with safety mats. The safety mats will be lowered off the wall during the lesson to be used as a safety mat when students descend down the wall. This mat system will increase motivation for student achievement and provide safety and security of the students.
