I am a Cross-Categorical Special Education teacher working with students in 4th and 5th grade in the Dual Language Immersion program at Sandburg Elementary. I currently have a caseload of eleven students, but together, with my team of six teachers, we work together to serve over 50 students, half of whom are English language learners. The students we serve have disabilities in the areas of autism spectrum disorder, intelectual and development delays, emotional and behavioral disabilities, specific learning disabilities, speech and language, and other health impairments such as ADD and ADHD.
