I Can, Uke Can, Too! will give my students a classroom set of ukuleles and they will have the opportunity to learn how to play the ukulele. My students will then be be able to accompany themselves when they sing. You've heard that playing a musical instrument is great for children's brain development. Many elementary students do not have the opportunity to learn an instrument as many school bands and orchestras do not begin until middle school.
I want to instill a love of music in my students for a lifetime of learning. The ukulele is an instrument where the student can play alone or together in a group setting. My students will be able to take the skills they are learning while playing the ukulele and apply these skills to other instruments, too. My students already know that I Can. They can hardly wait until Uke Can, Too!
