My students will gain hands-on experience programming and creating three-dimensional models of robots that can carry out various commands. Students will gain a better understanding of how technology works in real world applications. The Lego Mindstorms EV3 has an intelligent brick that has three programmable sensors and 48 step-by-step tutorials that are designed to teach mathematical concepts such as estimating, predicting, and measuring. Plus, students will be able to collect, view, analyze and manipulate data from sensors and see the data in interactive graphs. Coming in January, Lego EV3 will work with Scratch and we will be able to get free downloads for software, curriculum and eLearning.
