We have students in our sweet 3-5 year old class who cannot engage in many activities due to physical disabilities. This makes it hard to socialize and make friends. A sensory table for indoor and outdoor fun, adapted for wheelchair use, allows all of the children to play and learn together. One of our students has limited mobility, in a wheelchair and cannot lean over to play freely in everyday activities like playing with blocks, cars, legos, dress-up and so on. A sensory table would allow him to touch, explore and engage in many different mediums like water, sand, beans, rice, cars, shaving cream, and so many more tactile and imaginative items. Every student would benefit from the table, especially those who are otherwise unable to join in during group play. We have over 100 3-5 year old children who would enjoy and appreciate this new table.
