These headphones will be a benefit to everyone in the classroom. Currently, we are fortunate to have a Chromebook for every student. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to provide headphones for each one. Many of their programs read to them and this causes a lot of noise and distraction for the students. Having headphones for each student will allow them to focus on the standard they are working on without having to filter out all the other computer noise.
By donating to my class, my students will get the greatest benefit from the technology that they have. These students are from a high poverty area, and many do not have computers or internet at home. Their parents either speak little or no English, or they are working 2 or 3 jobs and lack the time to help their students. The programs they use at school promote reading, language, and math. Having headphones will greatly aid in their ability get the best use of the programs they have.
