My students need a Macbook Pro and AppleTV so I may present more engaging lessons and use more real world examples for their learning. My school bought us an iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil so I can project what students write on the iPad and allow them to demonstrate their learning for their classmates, but the software to mirror the iPad on my 6 year old HP laptop is cumbersome and glitchy. I want to completely transition to Apple products in the classroom to make the lessons more seamless and engaging and to reduce wasted instructional time due to technological issues caused by a 6 year old computer. I need the iPad Pro keyboard to turn my iPad into another computer that students can use in the classroom.
By using more modern and efficient technology in the classroom, students will have the opportunity to broaden their perspective on a topic, collaborate with other students, create, design, and research in ways they couldn't do otherwise. This technology will allow me to be fully digital; posting assignments and homework online and making digital copies available to students online. This will level the playing field for those with special needs, and keep parents in the loop with what's happening in their child's classroom.
My students will be learning in an environment where tomorrow is more within reach than it was before.
