The supplies listed will be used on a daily basis to help student learn their target language, whether it's Spanish in their foreign language class or English in their ESL class. Students will use these supplies to creatively express their language learning, through innovative language posters, culturally related art projects, and content related charts. They will use color pencils, markers, construction paper, glue, tape and other art supplies to make Day of the dead alters and illustrate Posadas around the world. They will create posters of their favorite Hispanic artist and have the opportunity to replicate their work. In addition, my ESL student will use these same supplies to create English language interactive notebooks, citizenship posters, and cultural dioramas to express their life experiences.
Students will have the tools for creative and artistic language learning. Providing students with the basic supplies enables them to focus on the learning process without having to worry about the out pocket cost of making learning creative. We will use chart paper for language anchor charts when studying cognates, post-its for chalk walk to pose questions and comment on each others work. Other supplies such as scissors and pens and pencils will be the additional tools to help them through their language learning. The supplies list are to ensure that every student is prepared to learn without the worry of the out of pocket expense of creative learning.
