I truly believe that increasing the reading-level of my students will improve our test scores, illustrate their brilliance, and better prepare them for college success. For most of my students they simply need to READ. Finding engaging texts that excite them is Step 1. I have 1-copy of "Odd Body" in my classroom and it is a go-to book for many students, they love its content. Having a class-set of the text will allow me to take that engagement further so that all students can have access to the text and we can have riveting discussions of what we read. This will hopefully lead to a snowball effect of reading more and more and more!
