My New York City elementary art students are predominantly minorities and many are immigrants that are bravely adjusting to their new homes. Many of them come from lower income and working class families. My students are inquisitive, lively, and insightful beyond their years. The teachers at the school which they attend work to provide each student with the tools and experiences they need in order to become independent, thoughtful, and well rounded individuals.
