In previous years, our school has been able to provide students with a healthy snack during the day. However, this year with financial changes, we have been unable to provide a midday snack for students. Many of our students go without a snack throughout the day and are hungry. It is very hard to concentrate when you're hungry and as a growing teenager, you're always hungry. A snack would help the students to stay motivated to take on challenges during the day. These are essentials that many of my students go without. We would be very thankful for the opportunity to provide them a snack when they are hungry. A little bit of food to fill their belly would go a long way in helping them be successful.
When students come to school hungry, they are not going to be able to do their best learning. They may need a little boost to get their day going and I want my students to be able to do their best.
A snack may just be the thing they need to get their learning kick started. This may give them the energy needed to focus, to be in better relationship with their peers, and to do better learning.
