My students are in sixth, seventh, and eight grade. All of my students have special needs and are in the lowest 25% of their grade level. Their various disabilities range from learning disabilities in reading and math coupled with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), to intellectually disabled, to autism spectrum disorder. More than threequarters of students are from lowincome households. Regardless of their hardships, they all show a desire to learn and aspire to be successful. The skills they learn today will impact them throughout life.
