Our school is in desperate need of some physical education equipment. Teaching over 840 students a week and using gym equipment that has been around for years. We currently have no budget in our school district and a lot of the equipment we have is falling apart and unusable. It would be a huge blessing for the students to receive funding. The funding will provide them with more equipment and more opportunities for play, practice, movement, social interactions, fun, and enjoyment. All of these things making for a healthy body and mind! Not only will it benefit our Physical education classes and our lunch program as well when they take our students out for recess! I'm hoping to get funding to receive soft dodgeballs, throw down bases, and playground balls/kickballs. These items are universal across most of the games that we play in our PE program. The students use the balls to help learn how to throw, catch, and kick. Students in grades pre k-5th grade use these items 90% of the time they are in gym class. We currently only have about 6 good soft dodgeballs, no bases for games (baseball, softball, kickball etc), and 1 good kickball. We aim to help students find activities to promote lifelong fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The equipment we receive will be used daily to help students achieve the level of fitness that is recommended for school aged children. Through practice and play with the items in need we strive to create a happy, healthy, and safe environment for all of our students.
