Hello! I am Allison Jones-Norton and I currently teach 11th grade American Literature at Merced High School (MHS) in Merced, California. MHS is an extremely diverse school that is open-minded and welcoming to a myriad of learners. The school boasts the motto, "Home of Scholars and Champions," encouraging students to perform to the best of their ability in and out of school, and in any facet of their lives. Majority of the students are involved in some form of after school program, creating a tight sense of community for each young adult. Because all of my kids learn in different ways, I always encourage my students to learn in the way that works best for them, and try to make learning fun and exciting by involving movement, games, collaboration, and community involvement.
