My students will sit on the carpet for most of the activities that we do during class time, especially during morning meeting and read alouds. Students need a place where they feel like they can express themselves without being judged. Students need to feel like they are a part of the classroom community and that is what I hope to create by having this carpet in my classroom. I want students to feel as though they are a part of something important because they are important in the classroom, school, and outside community. I look forward to one day having this safe space.
