These materials allow students to be INVOLVED in their learning. The letter of the day pocket chart allows students to be the "teacher" for the group by guiding them through the different parts of the chart. The letter/sound cups allow kids to touch the items, sort the items, classify the items. The purpose for these are endless! Lastly, the trace boards allow students to create muscle memory in regards to letter formation. This is a skill many young students with special needs struggle with. These materials will greatly enhance my instruction in the area of alphabet knowledge, phonemic awareness and phonics. Students will be much more engaged using these materials in my lessons and in turn reach important developmental milestones.
