This is my first year as a 5th grade teacher! I will be the Dual Language reading and writing teacher for our grade and will be teaching over 60 students during our rotations. As a dual language classroom, my students learn 50/50 English and Spanish language arts.
I know our school's population is economically challenged, about 65% receive free lunch, and we are a title 1 school. I also know, that none of this really matters in how successful my students will be this year. I am here to teach them that their zip code does not matter, and that belief in themselves is more important than any of this!
My classroom atmosphere will be a positive, enthusiastic, culturally relevant, and a safe environment where the students can learn, be creative, and be successful.
