Students will be able to have and maintain interactive science notebooks and social studies journals. Students will be able to take notes and complete drawings to help them learn.
Imagine a student's ability to draw an illustration in color, a plant and animal cell! It's something that they'll never forget and will help them commit this and other concepts to memory. Elements and compounds, speed, world maps, and more will be included in their journals. In each class period, students are given time to reflect in their notebooks. They may write, draw a picture, create a cartoon, or select one of many objects to "show what they know!" Having all the supplies needed to complete this reflection will improve students retention of the material from the lesson. Watching my students reflect on their learning in their own creative way is such a joy. It allows all students, including those who think "outside of the box" to successfully demonstrate their learning.
